Science, Stories and sustainable fishing
Connecting real-world fishing with the science that supports sustainable fisheries.
ABOUT ME
I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania where my passion for fish originated. Fishing small streams and creeks became my escape, and I quickly realized I wanted to turn my passion into a livelihood. I moved down to Florida where I earned a B.S. in Marine Science & Biology, and a minor in Environmental Science at the University of Tampa. Soon after, I sailed off to Louisiana State University where I completed my M.S. in Renewable Natural Resources with a concentration in Fisheries and Aquaculture Management.

Today I am grateful to serve as the Sustainable Fisheries Communications Manager for Florida Sea Grant. Through my current position I am able to utilize my recreational fishing experience, scientific background, and communication expertise to promote conservation and ethical angling. I currently manage Return 'Em Right, a gulf-wide program that works to reduce catch and release mortality from barotrauma in reef fish. It is my goal to continue to use my scientific and angling expertise to be a part of the evolution and success of fisheries management.
